Mabel [Collection Video]

My friend @stylistGili introduced me to this line and I'm obsessed. Check out this cute movie from designer Danielle Rohani of LA-based Mabel. Stylish and sweet Danielle came by last week to hand deliver my first Mabel piece and I'm in love. But I'm not going to tell you which item it was just yet... You'll find out later this week, when I announce a fab D~luxelist Deal from this emerging brand.

MAC Cosmetics [Prep + Prime Brightening Serum]

 

The latest addition to MAC's Prep + Prime line launches in the U.S. on April 18, 2010. Today was one of those "I love my job" days because I have a press sample of the new Brightening Serum. The packaging is sleek and chic, as always. I love that the pump has a simple and effective locking mechanism (ideal for travel, tossing in my makeup drawer, etc.). But what's inside that cool bottle is what really matters. 

Truthfully I just started wearing foundation this past January, and I totally buy into the idea that a primer or base improves the application of the rest of your makeup. The Prep + Prime arsenal is intended to "enhance the makeup wear experience" and while it's designed to gradually and visibly fade dark spots, it also hydrates and helps to provide a more evenly-toned complexion. MAC Senior Artist Romero Jennings likens the serum to a slip under the foundation: "so it glides on easily."

Prep + Prime Skin Brightening Serum is soft, light and only requires a few drops to help skin look more toned and luminous. Launching April 2010 at MAC retailers worldwide.

 

 

Oilo [Nursery Furniture + Crib Bedding]

 

Just discovered a beautiful new-ish line of furniture and bedding for modern parents, dubbed Oilo. The name is inspired by the Hawaiian words, "lio" (small sprout) and "ho’oilo" (the cool, rainy season). To launch the label, Annalisa Thomas, a former art director and graphic designer, teamed up with her mother, Dorte Anderson, a former interior designer with more than 25 years of custom interior design expertise. The mother-daughter duo came up with a gorgeous collection that inspires comfort and tranquility with clean lines and simple patterns. They describe the line as "style-setting nursery decor and chic baby bedding," which is right up our alley. I have my fingers crossed that they will release an oval bedding set for my son's Stokke Sleepi Crib/Toddler Bed.

No babes in your abode or baby showers on the calendar? The pillows and light fixtures are ultra-chic and would look great in any room of the house.
